“All of us at AWE congratulate Acuity for their efforts in a challenging implementation during our recent rapid expansion and also we are grateful for their efforts when the goal posts had to be moved and their flexibility with us in these matters. Long may we continue to expand together!”
Stuart Tickle, Managing Director
Established in 1933 as Radio Menders Ltd, the company has adapted to the changing markets over the years and in the year 2000 saw the fourth generation take the helm and steer the business away from manufacturing, successfully towards Residential Audio Visual Equipment distribution. Since then, a fivefold growth over the following 6 years has established AWE as one of the most progressive distributors in the industry.
When AWE first considered an alternative to its existing Sage 50 system, its key requirements were for a more powerful system to cope with complex sales order processing, serial number tracking on certain products, multi-warehousing by product lines, returns procedures and more sophisticated pricing structures.
After a Business Needs Analysis (BNA) was complete and AWE were happy that all of their key objectives had been met, Acuity performed a full Sage 50 data migration. AWE’s specific requirements for the new system involved Acuity’s Sage 200 accredited development team reproducing some of the Sage 50 features that weren’t currently available in Sage 200. A consultative approach throughout the project also meant Acuity were able to advise AWE upon implementing new business processes. By utilising the workflows in Sage 200 AWE were able to monitor key business activities and generate alerts/emails to prompt relevant personnel.
