Sohonet – Founded over 10 years in London, it launched the first commercial wide area ATM network in the world. It has since remained at the cutting edge of technology, operating an early wide area Ethernet network, deploying SDSL technology, and the first to commercially deploy VDSL technology in the UK.
Claire Wadd, Finance Director, joined Sohonet in 2007 having implemented Sage Line 100 at her previous company which was supported by Acuity. She wasted no time in getting in to contact with Acuity as she recognised that the Sohonet Sage 50 system would be unable to cope with the recent expansion and the international requirements of their offices in the US and Australia. She immediately identified an ROI through the automation of their Foreign Currency requirements which were being handled manually, the invoicing of their recurring contracts and the allocation of their 3rd party costs. Initially she considered Acuity’s Contract Sales Manager module (in Sage Additions Guide) as it catered for the complexities of their contracts but on further investigation realised that Acuity’s Data Migration services could bring in all their Sage 50 Templates and utilise the powerful Sage 200 SOP functionality to achieve the same results.
Although Sohonet had already started the system review, Claire recommended that Acuity also be considered because of her previous experience and because Acuity could convert the non standard elements of her Sage 50 data that others had said was not possible.
“Acuity would have won the business because of the many years of excellent service I had received but I still needed Board approval and their inventive Data Migration skills and assistance in preparing the paper for the Board, impressed them enough to commit to the purchase.
