Here at Acuity, we are excited to announce that Andy Saltmerhas recently joined the team as our Presales & Solutions Consultant.I wanted to take the opportunity to hear Andy's views and visions for Acuity.
Q1 Why did you join Acuity?
'I joined Acuity because I wanted to be part of a business that is growing and expanding. I have worked with some of the team previously and having spoken with them prior to joining about their experiences here, I heard nothing but great things about the business and people. In the end, it was an easy decision to make.'
Q2 What will you bring to Acuity?
'I have 13 years’ experience working in the Sage industry, across a number of different roles. I started on the support desk and have also worked on the delivery side including providing consultancy and project management before moving into a presales role, 3.5 years ago. The varied roles that I have held over the years allow me to talk to clients and prospective clients from a view point other than a sales perspective.'
Q3 What attracted you to Acuity?
'I was attracted to Acuity because I saw it as an opportunity to be able to progress my career further with a team of people who I’ve worked and had great success with before. The company mantra of always putting our customers first and at the forefront of what we’re trying to achieve as a business really resonated with me, as well as the number of satisfied and referenceable customers who are willing to tell great success stories of how Acuity helped transform their businesses made this a really attractive opportunity.'
Q4 What are your first month objectives?
'My first month objectives are to get my feet under the table and engage with the wider team, both here in the UK and in our South Africa office. I am also onsite to assist with go live support for one of our Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management clients in London. I’ll be taking 2 full weeks to do this and in between these tasks I’ll be looking to start building the new presales image for Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management V12, as well as starting to learn more about the Salesforce Platform through the Trailhead Learning Centre.'
Q5 What are you currently excited about in your new role?
'I am excited about getting out there and meeting more of our clients and being able to offer additional value to them in the Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management space but also to the Sage 200cloud clients too, as I believe I will be able to offer value in this area also. Another big area that I am looking forward to becoming involved with is the Sage Business Clouds Financials solution that runs on the Salesforce platform. I am looking to use the skills I’ve acquired in the Sage ecosystem and applying them to a new platform and product set.'
Q6 What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
'Outside of work I enjoy following my football team, Leeds United. During the winter months I follow horse racing as I attend Cheltenham Festival in March and like to think I know which horses are going to win. Sadly this is often not the case! More recently, I have taken up golf but I could do with a few more lessons. I am currently working on a project to renovate a Bungalow that I bought last year, including adding bedrooms and an upstairs, so this is going to take up quite a bit of my free time over the next few months.'
