Q1 When did you start Acuity?
'I formed Acuity in 1996 with Steve Fuller as an IT division born out of an accountancy practice that I'd started as a one man band with a calculator and a Ford Escort car loan in 1989. Now over two decades later we support customers in the UK and in over 40 Countries from our roots in Weybridge, Surrey, and now supported by our offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and satellites in Kenya and India! Very soon we will be expanding with an office in Central London. Scary? I’m proud of what I and the team have achieved, and excited by what we have planned for the future!'
Q2 What is your role & key responsibilities?
'This is an ever evolving role, especially these days with technology and talent evolving so fast and reminding us all that the only constant is change. Presently, I see my main role as ensuring execution of our Customer and People Strategies. I mainly focus on how to attract, develop and retain these whilst continually reinvesting in the business to improve and develop the lives of both our Customers and our People.'
Q3 In your opinion, what make’s Acuity different?
'An easy one this is for me, the talent we have in the team and how they deliver and innovate the solutions for our Customers, fills me with pride every day.'
Q4 What are your key goals each month?
'Making sure that we as Acuity are better this month than last, never ending improvement is essential to keep ahead of the curve in my opinion.'
Q5 What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
'I enjoy spending quality time with my family. As well as this, I have an interest in planes (and a long term goal to get my pilots licences), visiting art galleries in my spare time and a soft spot for Geographical Knowledge, which I'm happy to bore people with at the Bar and when possible I enjoy attempting to play 5 aside football and a bit of golf if time permits. Naturally Good wine and food never goes a miss either!'
