Sage 200cloud

The 2020 upgrade release of Sage 200 is now available. As part of our customer success we'd like to share with you some of the key features now available to you if you were to upgrade your Sage 200 instance.

Recently 3 version releases a year of Sage 200 brought us a regular stream of improvements and New Features within the program. Many of our customers upgraded throughout 2018 and 2019 to become compliant for Making Tax Digital and are now successfully producing Digital VAT Returns to the HMRC.

We have seen a range of New Features for making and taking Payments, elements of Document Management within Sage 200 and multiple Usability Improvements for our customers in the releases during 2018 and 2019 - version 2020 R1 brings us:

  • Opening Banking Compliance
  • SQL 2019 Compatibility
  • Compatibility with latest release of Sage CRM
  • Integrations to Office 365 Apps
  • Making Tax Digital Module update

1) Open Banking Compliance (PSD2)

Open Banking (PSD2) is a new secure way for you to share financial information from your bank with companies like Sage that offer banking and payment apps and is designed to give you greater control over your financial data.
These changes come into effect on 5 March 2020 and to comply with the new standards, connections between some banks and Sage will change.
Most bank feeds that don't already use Open Banking will be updated in the coming weeks.
There are a small number of banks and financial institutions that won’t have Open Banking connections ready in time for the change.
Use the table below for up-to-date information about the status of your bank feeds.
We have two types of bank feeds, Direct and Indirect.
Direct bank feeds are where we have an agreement with your bank or financial institution.
For other banks we connect using a secure third party provider, approved by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
If you’re not sure which type of feed you have, find out how to identify your bank feed type.
There is more information on the following link.

2) SQL 2019 Compatibility

Sage 200 v2020 R1, is compatible with Microsoft SQL 2019, which will allow Sage 200 customers to upgrade their infrastructure to the latest framework or take advantage of the latest Hosted platforms.

3) Sage 200 v2020 R1 is now compatible with the latest release of Sage CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

All Sage 200 customers get a FREE Sage CRM license within the Sage 200 Platform. Once configured, this gives customers the ability to:
- Consolidate + organise contact details for customers into a central location
- Perform and measure e-marketing campaigns
- Track communications and engagements with customers across all departments
- Sync your existing Sage 200 data into CRM – then utilise the Sales, Marketing and Case Management Tools.
Please speak to your Account Manager if you would like to know more about Sage CRM integrated with Sage 200

4) Further Integrations with Office 365 Power Apps

Each release brings further integrations and automations between Sage 200 and MS O365:
Sage 200 v2019, for example, delivered MS Power Flow automation to notify when Supplier Bank Details are amended, providing an element of fraud control for Sage 200 Customers
Sage 2020 R1 brings improvements to PowerApp when integrated with Sage 200:
The Flow, PowerApp and Power BI integrations for Sage 200cloud are for medium sized businesses who want to radically improve their efficiency to save time and increase effectiveness. They enable Sage 200cloud users to eliminate manual processes and workflows, and to have greater insight into their business performance. With these, they are now able to reduce costs within their business, improve operating margins, and proactively manage their business. Integration of Sage 200cloud with Flow, Power Apps and Power BI enable our customers to manage their business in ways previously not possible. Integration between these applications help our customers operate more profitably, effectively, and to better serve their stakeholders, from customers to employees and partners.

5) Update to Making Tax Digital Submission Module

For VAT submissions to HMRC using MTD, the submissions now include additional information to help troubleshoot problems and prevent fraudulent submissions.
For VAT submissions using the HMRC gateway (not MTD), you can now use a longer account password, as it was previously restricted to 12 characters.

Please speak to your Account Manager if you would like any further info about upgrading to the latest version of Sage 200
