What has Sage ever done for us?

“We’re on Sage 50, we’re growing quickly, and we need a new solution. What has Sage ever done for us anyway?”

Helped you manage your cashflow and invoicing process?

“Yes, that’s true.”

Simple, in-depth reporting?

“Oh, yeah. That was helpful. Do you remember what our reporting process used to be like? I’ll grant you, cashflow, invoicing and reporting are a few things Sage has helped us with.”

And VAT management for HMRC tax returns and MTD compliance!

“Well, that goes without saying, doesn’t it? Apart from managing cashflow and invoicing, getting rid of manual reporting and VAT management for easier HMRC tax returns and MTC compliance… What has Sage ever done for us?!”

Quite a lot, actually.

The more cultured of you may recognise the reference to Monty Python’s The Life of Brian* in this exchange. If it’s not familiar to you, take a look at the video opposite*.

You might think we have lost the plot, but if Reg and The People’s Front of Judea were around now, they would probably need some sort of finance management software too!

We completely understand that there comes a time in every growing company’s life where you realise that the finance management solution you have been using is now simply coming up short.

Outgrowing your finance software can be frustrating, so it is easy to forget that while it is no longer keeping up with your growth, it was Sage that got you here in the first place!

In short – we feel your pain, but don’t be a Reg.

Instead of asking “What has Sage done to help us?” try…

…“What can Sage do for us next?”

For a true cloud, fully integrated, intuitive, flexible, and scalable financial management system, we recommend Sage Intacct.

Too much reporting and manipulation of data in Excel makes Reg a very angry man.

Reg had a pretty short temper even back then; his rage was probably due to the number of tapestries he had on the go for planning and managing The People’s Front of Judea.

Much like Reg, you need to ensure your team is using their time wisely, and if your resources are currently being pulled into time-consuming manual processes like reporting and manipulation of data in Excel, that is going to cause problems.

Like many other businesses in your situation, you may be finding that anywhere from 60% of your reporting is being done in spreadsheets and you are unable to slice and dice data with dimensions or calculated fields.

Upgrading to the next level of Sage software can help with this. With an all-singing-all-dancing solution like Sage Intacct, you can say goodbye to spreadsheets, save up to 40 hours of reporting time each month and cut time spent checking data accuracy by 75%, allowing your team to spend their time on the things that matter so your business can grow faster and smarter. No more Reg rage.

You don’t need to be the messiah to eliminate errors!

Sage Intacct might not be able to make you the messiah, but it can certainly make you feel like your team is performing miracles.

You may find that a lack of automation in Sage 50 has led you to rely on error-prone manual processes. This is risky and could be dangerous for your business. Imagine sending out an invoice which drastically over- or worse under-charges a client, resulting in losing business or losing money.

With Sage Intacct, financial consolidation is automated and General Ledger Outlier Detection enhancements show anomalies in your journal entries. Never miss a beat and avoid errors with Sage Intacct’s automation, and you’ll always be looking on the bright side of business life.

Crucifixion? No, freedom.*

Do you feel that your company is being crucified by your on-premise solution? Alright, that was a bit of a stretch, but does any of the following sound familiar? …

Accessing your system remotely isn’t possible without investing in an expensive remote access server, so instead of integrating systems, you have implemented manual workarounds. As a result, you are spending hours each month swapping between software solutions, spreadsheets and other systems to manage your business and finances.

You may have found that your on-prem system has caused some serious problems and challenges for your business during the pandemic due to the need to be in your office to access it, potentially putting yourself and your team at risk.

Painful, time-consuming upgrades require server downtime, meaning your team is set back even further. What’s more, the expense of upgrades can be as great as implementing a new system entirely.

Enough is enough! It’s about time you chose freedom with Sage Intacct, the true cloud finance software solution. Not only will you be choosing freedom from the limits of your current solution, those countless hours waiting for fixes and updates, but also freedom and flexibility for you and your team to work anytime, anywhere and from any device. Work smarter, not harder, and make your team happy in the process. What’s not to love?

‘Attainment of world supremacy’*

Reg had some big dreams, didn’t he? However, he may well have found that the rate of growth of the People’s Front of Judea, as per his five-year plan to attain world supremacy, probably would have landed him in some troubles without a reliable finance management solution.

You may be in a similar position. Your company is growing, and you have become a multi-entity business. However, while Sage 50 was the perfect solution for your business initially, it does not have the functionality to support further growth. You are spending hours or days completing multi-entity consolidations in Excel and closes easily exceed 10 business days; the lack of centralised entity management has you feeling like you are in line to collect your cross.

Sage Intacct provides you with real-time insights in-depth reports, and quick and simple set up for incorporation of new entities at the click of a button to help you build a global organisation. Sage Intacct could be the robust multi-entity and multi-currency financial management programme to get you there.

Much like Reg and his team, if you don’t take action now, these slow processes could mean that further growth will be incredibly difficult, if not impossible, and your own five-year plan could be nothing more than a dream.

‘You don’t need to follow anybody! You’re all individuals! You’re all different!’*

Sage 50 may have treated you well until now, but you don’t need to stick with it if it is no longer working for you. All businesses are different and have different needs.

Here at Acuity, our aim is to make sure our customers are future-ready, so you can rest assured that your next solution will be configured specifically to suit your business’ unique and individual requirements.

If you think now could be the right time to make a move and upgrade to Sage Intacct, don’t get into a Reg rage, get in touch and speak to one of our experts about how Sage Intacct could help your business grow and succeed.
